Where my dogs at????

Hi my faithful audience, all these months I was trying to make my parents write about my busy lifestyle, and oh yeah, my brother too, and at last - my dad did it - booyah!!!!.

My story, my bad -- OUR story -- started with my famous birthday. A lot of people came in to see me, I was the princess that day, I mean EVERY DAY - but that one was special, there were so many dogs!!! Mom and dad even took us to NYC so that I could do some shopping and pick out my birthday dress. A green critter dress with whales and rhinestones. Wait til you see the photos! It was a fantastic day -- lots of fun and my mom baked me my own doggy cake, yum!!! It was good. I can't believe that I'm a one-year old chick. So many good things occured this year (house, a brother (that I didn't ask for)), vacation, birthday, new car

BARK….BARK …ARFFFF!!!!!!

Excuse me, my name is Spencer I have something to say before my sister takes over the story, - CAN I EAT IT? No, no, no seriously I’m the new kid and I get so much grief just because I’m a big boy. Everyone is always saying, “Poor Mischa!!” Yeah, “poor Mischa” – somehow this always seems to translate into, “It's your fault Spencer.” Anyway, my life here in the east coast is wonderful! I get to meet a lot of nice folks and dogs. My parents are very good to me, we go for car rides, we eat out, we even had a chance to go to the Big Apple -- my kind of town!!!! So many places to sniff -- it was lots of fun! You all heard about my last vacation (I think that was our last blog entry) – a few weeks after I flew in from Frisco we went for Presidents Day weekend to the Outer Banks. We just went to the beach at Nags Head, N.C. for 4th of July week, too! Oh Man!!! That was awesome!! We did a good amount of swimming, fishing, crabbing, and the best one - bike rides in our own cart (poor daddy had to pedal pedal pedal all the way down the beach street). And did I mention how much I love car rides??? Man!!! I love car rides. Mischa got the house on Meadow Lane – but me??? Mom and Dad gave me a new present too -- We got a new car (they named it, “doodle 1”) it’s named after me -- for those of you who haven’t figured that out yet.

It is a smooth ride, plenty 0f space to move around and get into trouble! Oops! I mean, plenty of room to stretch out and sleep.

So, we took Doodle 1 to the beach for fourth of July week - We had a nice time out there (the whole family -- grandpa and grandma too); I can’t wait for our next adventure!!! And now here’s my sister again. Thank you for reading my side of the story. . . .

Where was I. . . after getting interrupted by my big brother. . . . life is not so bad at all. We got to travel around, go to nice places, wear nice polo shirts (and dresses for me!) and eat good food -- or what ever is left for me after my brother eats it all!! Grandma and Grandpa buy me my own cheese, though! YUM! We go sometimes down the street to hang out with my boyfriend, Finn (his people have a people pool AND a puppy pool just like the one mom and dad have for us in the back yard!) It’s fun - we get to play, run and also bark at everything and anything that is around us.

I’m very happy this summer. My first summer…sorry "our" first - I'm not used to sharing things.

I hope you enjoy these photos from our recent adventures! Talk to you again soon!

Oh brother,"Spencer"!!!

Hi everybody, it has been a long time since i updated the blog! My parents had a hand full of things to take care of! But now here's my story after my little "nip tuck" surgery (you know the girl has to take care of her body) After surgery, I didn't have energy to do anything . . . but after a few days my inside cat agility surfaced and now i'm feeling much better -- well, kind of, because while i was sick (resting) my parents decided to get me a BROTHER (did they ask?...nope)
so i went along with this (no choice).
A few weeks later we went to NJ visit the grands -- but it was more than that, we had to go the next day to pick up a package from the airport. I was excited about the road trip but little me didn't know that I would be sooo suprised . . . Turns out, my little brother shows up in his crate at Newark International - tired, scared and big time whiner. I was furious with my dad on the way home from the airport because he was holding this little creature that wiggles like me (huh! how rude! can you imagine?) We finally get home to grammy and gramp's house, and he was the center of the attention... Life was better when I was the one who got all of the attention, but now I have to compete with him.
It was tough in the beginning. The more he is around, though, the more I have started tolerating his behavior. My parents took us to the beach for a long weekend -- it was fantastic (woohoo! first time at the beach). We had a lot of fun (played, ran and ran again). This is my little story for now -- I have to go fight Spencer for the rubber chicken - he won last time - can't let that happen again!
I'll try to keep the blog up to date - love you all
from us (Mischa & Spencer)

Story of my life around the holidays

At first let me say that i miss you people ,and you know if i knew how to type i'd be happy to keep you up to date. I'm sure you're all wondering what happened to me. Well if you have time to sit down and read my ordeal -- excuse me i meant to say adventures !?. It started around thanksgiving when we went to NJ to spend the holiday with my grandparents. It was awsome except there were way too many people and you know how i feel about that! You know I like the holidays - you get to wear new clothes and look good (wich i'm trying to forget) because my parents took me to PetSmart for a haircut and unfortunatly the lady had a party on me --so guess what i'm saying? (I got a really bad haircut...really bad! See Exibit A )but i can't complain my parents got me a nice dress to hide the inperfection and I got to eat a good juicy filet mignon...hum yum!.

My next quest was just after we got a new house - Oh Yeah, you don't even know that!!! I have a house!!! No more sneaking up and down the back stairwell of that stuffy apartment building - and that laps that I can run now - not just through the bedroom into the bathroom around the corner and back again. Oh no!!! Now I've got three levels of house to run though and a fantastic big back yard to explore. They even put in a special mini-yard right off of the deck just for me! I love my house, and all of my neighbors and their people.

So, November 28th I got my house, and don't you know, my parents decided to host a christmas party just two weeks later!!! How in the world could I let them do that - they hadn't even put away all of their things that were all over my house - my toys, still in a box (ok, except for a dozen or so!) Trust me, if I could have convinced them not to have the party so soon I would have, but I'm just little princess and as the guy said in the movie"Grandfather informs me, this is not possible!" Anyway, more people came in and it was crazy -- they were everywhere!!! I tried to run away from them, but no luck!! I ended up under the oven where no body could see me...for little while! Imagine that, all dressed up in my Christmas dress, and hiding in the kitchen cabinets! I didn't say to you that i looked good in my christmas dress (delivery took forever on this dress, too -- handmade! rigth?!)

So far i'm enjoying my new house and my neighbors especially this boy Finn -- I like him. I like him a lot!! I think i can call him my boyfriend -- i go visit him sometimes and he comes here too, we are happy together.

Mischa Goes to Camp!

Mischa is spending the week at our home (Nicole's parents) in New Jersey! We were, frankly, a bit apprehensive, for a couple of reasons.

First, whenever we visit Nicole in Washington, Mischa spends all her time with her mom, and in fact avoids any contact with us. We were concerned that Mischa would spend a miserable week in New Jersey, avoiding us and crying for her mom. This concern proved groundless, as I'll explain later.

Secondly, its been a while since we've had a dog in our home. I was fortunate to have Nicole's only other dog with us during the years she was in college, law school, and beginning her career. His name was Buttons; a white purebred miniature poodle. He had a variety of pet pet names; Goober, Scooter, the beloved poodle, Pupkin, HoneyBun, Buttsworth, the ElderPoodle, to name a few. Buttons died in my arms on December 30, 2005, at the age of 17. I mourn him daily. I thought you'd all enjoy seeing a few pictures of him.

Now, as for Mischa (or, as I call her, the Meesh).....far from being standoffish, she settled right in to her new (temporary) environment. She had to tolerate a few soaking rains, but still managed to stay fluffy and cute. She loves to cuddle, jump up in your lap and give kisses, and go for walks. She's a very docile, sane puppy, except for brief periods when she goes nuts and runs around! She's very loyal and friendly, following me everywhere around the house, like a....puppy dog! (wonder if thats where the expression came from?) It will be interesting to see how Mischa reacts when Nicole comes to visit tomorrow. Will she recognize her mom? forget her grandparents? stay tuned!

MISSING PUPPY

Have you seen Mischa?

She left for camp at the grandparents house on sunday, and while Grandpop camp counselor promised to update the blog to keep Mischa's mommy and daddy AND all of her friends and admirers comforted and contented, there has been NOT A SINGLE blog update. We are assured that Mischa is having a fun stay with the grandparents, and we have been told that Mischa now follows her Grandpop all over the house! Hmm. . .sure wish that they would take the time to update the blog.

Mischa Goes to Work!

Mischa insisted on coming to my office on Halloween to meet some of her mommy's friends and colleagues! With a puppy bed, a raw hide bone and a couple of squeaky toys Mischa settled right into her work day. She had lots of secret visitors during her stay, met lots of new people, protected her toys from all of the strangers and even let out a couple mini- barks and growls *for which she was promptly scolded* "Going to work is hard work," Mischa concluded. She then curled up in mommy's gym bag under the desk to hide out and take a nap.

When it was just about time to go home (or out on the town to check out costumes in Georgetown and play with other dogs) Mischa got a visit from her Auntie Anna! Auntie Anna was having a rough week and had to cancel her birthday dinner celebration to work work work. Mischa was sooo glad that she was able to give her Superstar of an Auntie a big hug. We even got a photo for the blog. All is not lost!

Mischa the Geisha!

Mischa was a geisha for Halloween - I think she looks just fabulous - she got many compliments when we went to a doggie costume parade in town - there had to be over 50 dogs all dressed up; big and small . . it was really cute.

Puppy School Report

Mischa is doing very well in school - she is learning to sit (for a treat), lay down (for a treat), walk like a sane puppy dog (as long as the treats keep coming) and to come when we call (well, maybe sometimes, and that's even with the bribe of a treat!). She had a great time playing with Morgan again today - those two really have a blast wrestling and running around - some of the bigger dogs even wanted to come play with them this week. Several classmates (people) came up to me this week and told me how proud I should be that my little Mischa was really coming out of her shell and getting more and more courageous every week - she's a big girl now! In other news, our Coton friend Morgan has a blog of her own now - as soon as I figure out how to officially link the two pups' websites from Mischa's blog I will do so - until then, you can see Morgan's page at www.cotonmorgan.blogspot.com
